Why Revival?
Revival refers to a spiritual reawakening from a state of dormancy or stagnation in the life of a believer. It encompasses the resurfacing of a love for God, an appreciation of God’s holiness, a passion for His Word and His church, a convicting awareness of personal and corporate sin, a spirit of humility, and a desire for repentance and growth in righteousness. “A revival of true Godliness among us is the greatest and most urgent of all our needs. To seek this should be our first work” (Selected Messages 1:121) The bottom line for any true revival is repentance, true and deep repentance. That is the only revival that will bring transformation in personal life as well changes in the church. Without true repentance, any revival meetings will be mere sound of noise. It is the Holy Spirit who alone can bring true revival, and He could do that through rightly dividing the word for this time.
